Intruduction to Wang Xizhi
Wang Xizhi (王羲之, 303–361 CE) was a renowned Chinese calligrapher from the Eastern Jin dynasty. He is often regarded as the greatest calligrapher in Chinese history. Wang Xizhi’s work exemplifies grace, fluidity, and dynamic expression. His most famous work, Lanting Xu (兰亭序), or the “Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion,” is celebrated for its artistic beauty, and his calligraphic style is noted for the unique flowing shape of the characters.
